Coprolite Speaker

Coprolite Speaker Wayne Adams

Inspire the members of your organization with the Coprolite message presented by Wayne Adams, the founder of our, er… movement. Programs are available in various lengths and on your choice of topics.

Adams's message can be aimed at people in—or verging on—"seniorhood," or he can advise younger audiences on how to understand and appreciate their older family members. He can also speak on general topics (see the "Top Ten" format below). The approach is always light and humorous.

After a career in marketing communications with a large corporation, Wayne Adams wrote a newspaper column, co-founded a business-writing firm (WordMagic Communications) and became a vocal spokesperson as well as something of a poster child for all the Coprolites of the world. He is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Topics Wayne Adams speaks on include:

The Top Ten Reasons Why… He can tailor a message to fit your group using the "Top Ten" format. It could be the top ten reasons why it's great to be a member of your organization, or to live in your city, or even to be a Coprolite. The talk is accompanied by a puzzle, with one piece added to the puzzle for each reason. Reason number one always comes with a big surprise when it's time to fit that last piece into the puzzle.

The Coprolite People: A tongue-in-cheek look at the triumphs and troubles of this noble group. Popular culture often makes fun of them, marketers ignore them, employers discriminate against them, and politicians suspect they’re out to bankrupt society with their medical expenses. Yet there are ways that Coprolites can fight back, reclaim their rightful respect, and have fun in the process.

Cruising Through Retirement: Retirement is a lot like a cruise. That must be why the hallways in senior apartment buildings have railings to hold onto just as cruise ship passageways do. On a cruise, the people who spend their time lolling in their deck chairs may end up complaining about how boring it all was. The people who attend the shows, take the classes, play the games, and go on the shore excursions end up raving about how much fun they had. It’s an attitude thing, and retirement works the same way.

The Good Old Days: Remember the era of comedy, drama, and music before radio turned to endless talk and TV discovered “reality show” conniving? Remember when offices relied on Comptometer operators and factories built things with craftsmen instead of robots? When ice and milk were delivered to your house? Nostalgic memories of the lifestyle, machines, and innocence of days gone by.
